Every year, before starting the academic year, USTH would issue the regulation of scholarships for domestic and international students. It would be considered encouragement and supports for our students.
In order to encourage and award the efforts of students on the path of study and research, USTH has developed a transparent regulation of scholarship every year, including:

Each year, the Regulations on scholarships for students, trainees, and doctoral students (referred to as students) for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs of USTH have certain updates and adjustments. It helps USTH students to increase their chances of winning valuable scholarships, worthy of each individual’s efforts.
Below is information about the types of USTH scholarships that have been awarded:
1. Merit scholarship for students with excellent academic records.
- For new students: scholarships are considered based on academic achievements, awards, etc. at the high school/university level.
- For 2nd and 3rd year students, the scholarship is considered based on academic and research achievements during their study at the university.

2. Internship scholarships:
Internship scholarships are awarded to bachelor’s and master’s students with an excellent academic record at USTH to have a thesis internship in Vietnam or abroad as a part of the USTH training
program.
The scholarships are available for:
– The 3rd-year bachelor’s students and the 2nd-year master’s students have the highest GPA (≥ 15/20) of each major, a maximum 01 retake-exam per academic year, and no disciplinary violation during the time at USTH.
– The GPA for the internship scholarship is an average mark of B1 and B2 for the Bachelor’s program and M1 for the Master’s program.
3. Other scholarships:
3.1. Pathway to success scholarship: for students graduating from USTH’s Undergraduate/Master’s program to continue on to the University’s Master/Ph.D. program.
3.2. Capacity Building Scholarship: for the staff of the Research Institute, the center of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to study the Master’s and Doctoral training programs of the university.
3.3. Global scholarship: for international students to study training programs of the University who achieve a GPA of bachelor’s or master’s degree from 12/20 or equivalent.
3.4. Access Scholarship: for students from MOU partners of USTH with tuition fee incentive program and having a good academic record at high school/ university.
3.5. Opportunities Scholarship: for students from poor households or in difficult circumstances.
USTH always wishes that each scholarship awarded would become a meaningful gift, worthy of the efforts of the students on the journey to conquer their dreams.
In the academic year 2021-2022, the University has spent nearly 7 billion VND to award scholarships to more than 300 students, graduate students, and doctoral students, with various types of scholarships and scholarship levels from 10,000,000 VND to 45,000,000 VND.
