1. Admission criteria:
1.1. Admission based on international certificates in combination with interview results
– Applicable to candidates who will graduate from high school in 2026
– Eligibility:
+ Candidates who hold at least one of the following international standardized test certificates: an SAT score of 1100/1600 or above, or an ACT score of 24/36 or above, issued within the two (02) years preceding the application submission date.
+ Candidates must have attained an overall academic performance classified as Very Good/Excellence in both Grades 11 and 12.
1.2. Admission based on high school academic performance in combination with interview results
– Applicable to candidates who will graduate from high school in 2026
– Eligibility:
+ Candidates who have achieved an average grade point (GPA) of at least 8.30/10 in three (03) out of the following six (06) subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, and English, in both Grades 11 and 12, corresponding to one of the admissions subject combinations of the training program.
+ Candidates must have attained an overall academic performance classified as Very Good/Excellence in both Grades 11 and 12
+ Formula for Calculating the Average score:
AVG[(Subject 1 + Subject 2 + Subject 3)Grade 11+ (Subject 1 + Subject 2 + Subject 3)Grade 12]/ 6
2. Process:
– Candidates submit their application online at apply.usth.edu.vn.
– Onsite interview with the USTH admissions jury.
*Remarks:
a) Double degree programs: Candidates must hold an IELTS certificate with a minimum overall score of 6.0 or a TOEFL iBT score of at least 60.
Admission is conducted exclusively through AM1, based on the results of the USTH Competency Assessment Examination.
b) Pharmacy program (applicable to all admission methods): Candidates must hold an IELTS certificate with a minimum score of 5.0 or a TOEFL iBT score of at least 35.
– For AM1, AM2, candidates must meet one of the following academic requirements: a full-year Grade 12 academic performance classified as Excellent/Very Good (GPA ranking from Excellent or above) or a high school evaluation score of at least 8.0.
– For AM4, candidates must meet the requirements of the quality assurance threshold for the health sector in the year of graduation stipulated by the MOET.
c) For applicants to the Medical Science and Technology programs, the requirement is a full-year Grade 12 academic performance classified as Good (GPA ranking from Good or above) or a high school evaluation score of at least 6.5.
d) For Semiconductor and IC Technology: must meet the minimum admission quality assurance threshold in accordance with Decision No. 1314/QĐ-BGDĐT dated May 13, 2025 and Decision No. 2101/QĐ-BGDĐT dated July 22, 2025 issued by MOET on the National Standards for Undergraduate and Master’s Training Programs in Semiconductor Microelectronics.
e) Aeronautical Engineering: Admission is conducted only through AM1, AM2, and AM3
f) Foreign applicants: Foreign candidates must demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency to ensure effective academic participation at USTH, as follows:
– For the regular programs: IELTS score of at least 5.0, or other equivalent certificates. Candidates to the Pharmacy program must also meet the Vietnamese language proficiency requirements, in accordance with the current regulations by the MOET.
– For the double degree programs: IELTS score of at least 6.0, or other equivalent
g) Subject combinations for admission: The subject combination applicable to each training program is specified in Annex 1 – Admissions Announcement.
h) Valid foreign language certificates: Foreign language certificates recognized by the MOET for university admission and their equivalent scores at the USTH score system (AM1 and AM4) are provided in Annex 2 – Admissions Announcement.
i) Candidates should refer to the USTH Competency Assessment Exam guidelines published on the USTH website.
j) All candidates are required to register their aspirations online on the General Supporting System for admission of the MOET within the prescribed timeframe.
If the number of qualified candidates exceeds the enrollment quota of a training program, admission results will be determined based on the order of candidates’ aspirations registered in the MOET centralized admissions system.
