Admission announcement for master program academic year 2023 – 2024

1. General information:

Established under the Inter-governmental Agreement between Vietnam and France on November 12, 2009, University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) also called Vietnam France University has built a reputation as an advanced-model international public university.

USTH follows the European Bologna Process: Bachelor (3 years, 180 ECTS), Master (2 years, 120 ECTS), PhD (3 years). USTH provides advanced training programs which link theory with practice and tightly engage with industrial and social needs. The language of instruction and learning is entirely in English. The USTH professors are all graduated from prestigious universities, of which, 70% are foreign lecturers with highly qualified teaching experience. The percentage of master’s students who go abroad for internships is up to 60%. Every year, the USTH has offered many scholarships to excellent students. Upon graduation, students will be granted two Master’s degrees which are widely recognized in the world (one by USTH and one by a French Institution).

3. Eligibility

Vietnamese citizens and foreigners who meet the following criteria:

• Holding a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields;
• Being capable of studying in English.

Citizens belonging to one of the following categories may be considered by the Admission Committee to enroll in a second year Master’s program:

• Candidates who have completed M1 at local or international foreign universities with the Bologna process (had a Maitrise diploma in France or have completed 240 ECTS – European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System).
• Candidates with engineering degrees from institutions accredited by CTI/PFIEV, from other training institutions recognized by authorities.
• Candidates who have a Bachelor degree of 4 years with Good or Very Good classification recognized by the French government are equivalent to the first 60 ECTS after obtaining the Bachelor degree.

Notes: 

*Applicants who have completed their Bachelor program but not yet received their diplomas must submit academic transcripts or temporary graduation certificates (copies and English translated versions).

* *Applicants who are in the last year of Bachelor programs must submit updated academic transcripts and a confirmation letter on expected graduating time (copies and English translated versions).

Applicants who want to apply as exchange students must provide at least the transcripts of two recent semesters up to the present.

* **Candidates pay admission fees according to the instructions in section 8.

7. Scholarships and fellowships

USTH provides scholarships according to state policies and USTH regulations. Call for scholarship application will be announced on the USTH website at the beginning of the academic year via the following link: https://www.usth.edu.vn/en/student-affairs/news/

8. Application fees and tuition fees:

• Admission fee: 500,000 VND/candidate, which is submitted with the application and non-refundable in all cases. Candidate can transfer with detail as follows:

Notes: 

Tuition fees are collected by semesters for Vietnamese students and by academic years for international students.

Admission fee and tuition fees are waived for exchange students from member universities of the USTH consortium. 

9. Application dossier submission 

Applicants are required to submit their application dossiers in on ways:

–  Sending the scanned dossiers in PDF format or in ZIP files to admission@usth.edu.vn. The title of the submission email should be as follows: “Master admission <name of major> – wave… – <Full name> (e.g. Master Admission – Biomedicine -Wave 1- NGUYEN A).
